Narrative:

As captain, I unknowingly operated a DO328 for 4 flts on dec/xa/00 using a basic operating weight of 20484 pounds instead of 20492 pounds. The situation occurred due to no prior notification of change by employer. Normal procedures for notification of basic operating weight change is a several day notice on the company daily bulletin. This did not occur. The basic operating weight change was posted several hours after our departure time. This 8 pound increase to fleet basic operating weight didn't pose a threat to safety. However, this poor notification policy could lead to potential problems more serious in nature if this practice continues.
