Narrative:

Following overnight in bna, reported to aircraft at XA30L. The first officer reported emergency medical kit missing from its normal place during his cockpit preflight. I stated that sometimes operations people bring emergency medical kits inside during very cold WX and that I would call and have it brought out, prior to push. The flight was very full and we had to deice as well. In all of the rush, I forgot to call and we departed. On arrival in mem, we discovered our error. I called maintenance. They said to simply put it in the logbook and they would bring another emergency medical kit. I should have called as soon as it was brought to my attention and then followed up on it before we left. I should also not have let myself get rushed, which contributed to my forgetting.
