Narrative:

We departed pdk airport runway 20L. WX was 500 ft overcast, 2 1/2 mi visibility, light rain mist. Departure instructions were: cleared takeoff, after 2000 ft right turn to 340 degrees, maintain 3100 ft and call departure through 2000 ft. After 2000 ft, we started the right turn to 340 degrees and called atl departure who revised our altitude to 3000 ft. As we were passing through 300 degrees, departure called us back with an immediate left turn to 220 degrees. I asked where our traffic was, and was told it was an F18 which at that time the TCASII went TA with 'traffic.' when I looked at our TCASII screen, I saw traffic just about above us at 100 ft. We were in about a 45-50 degree bank at the time in response to ATC immediate turn instructions.
