Narrative:

Takeoff was rejected due to lack of an autopack trip light. As we approached the runway we completed the delayed start checklist and before takeoff checklist. As we began the takeoff roll, I noticed the autopack trip light did not illuminate. My perception was that the bulb was still dimmed for night operations. My attention was concentrated on trying to brighten the bulb. After 1-2 seconds, I realized the light was really not on and announced 'no green light.' the takeoff was rejected and I immediately realized the switch was left in the cutout position. The checklists were accomplished, a logbook entry was made, book cooling period was observed and we notified the company. Contributing factors may have included the morning departure with mild fatigue. The before takeoff checklist is normally a very busy time, but I did not feel more rushed than usual. I feel that something may have distraction me at the point in the checklist when I should have positioned the autopack trip switch to normal. But I don't recall a specific item. After a yr in the same crew position, the checklists are becoming routine. For this reason, I feel it is more important than ever to be very deliberate with the checklist.

THE CHKLISTS WERE ACCOMPLISHED, A LOGBOOK ENTRY WAS MADE, BOOK COOLING PERIOD WAS OBSERVED AND WE NOTIFIED THE COMPANY. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS MAY HAVE INCLUDED THE MORNING DEP WITH MILD FATIGUE. THE BEFORE TKOF CHKLIST IS NORMALLY A VERY BUSY TIME, BUT I DID NOT FEEL MORE RUSHED THAN USUAL. I FEEL THAT SOMETHING MAY HAVE DISTR ME AT THE POINT IN THE CHKLIST WHEN I SHOULD HAVE POSITIONED THE AUTOPACK TRIP SWITCH TO NORMAL. BUT I DON'T RECALL A SPECIFIC ITEM. AFTER A YR IN THE SAME CREW POS, THE CHKLISTS ARE BECOMING ROUTINE. FOR THIS REASON, I FEEL IT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER TO BE VERY DELIBERATE WITH THE CHKLIST.
