Narrative:

I am a new captain in the E145, although this event technically occurred when I was the sic, because I was receiving IOE from a check airman. I was his second IOE person and we both were relatively new to the stl airport. In addition, I only had about 10 hours in the aircraft. He was showing me visual approach and landing, when this happened. We were cleared for the visual by approach and started toward the runway. After that he was busy showing and describing his technique to me and we both got lost concentrating on the approach. After we landed, we realized that the tower frequency wasn't in the box. We switched to ground and taxied in. Tower or ground never asked us to contact them. I believe that we were too focused on one thing. We were very aware of where we were and the aircraft around us due to the strict spacing requirements at stl. Unfortunately our situational awareness obviously fell short when it came to communications. This also showed poor CRM between the two of us.

Title: E145 CREW LANDED AT STL WITHOUT CLRNC.

Narrative: I AM A NEW CAPT IN THE E145, ALTHOUGH THIS EVENT TECHNICALLY OCCURRED WHEN I WAS THE SIC, BECAUSE I WAS RECEIVING IOE FROM A CHK AIRMAN. I WAS HIS SECOND IOE PERSON AND WE BOTH WERE RELATIVELY NEW TO THE STL ARPT. IN ADDITION, I ONLY HAD ABOUT 10 HRS IN THE ACFT. HE WAS SHOWING ME VISUAL APCH AND LNDG, WHEN THIS HAPPENED. WE WERE CLRED FOR THE VISUAL BY APCH AND STARTED TOWARD THE RWY. AFTER THAT HE WAS BUSY SHOWING AND DESCRIBING HIS TECHNIQUE TO ME AND WE BOTH GOT LOST CONCENTRATING ON THE APCH. AFTER WE LANDED, WE REALIZED THAT THE TWR FREQ WASN'T IN THE BOX. WE SWITCHED TO GND AND TAXIED IN. TWR OR GND NEVER ASKED US TO CONTACT THEM. I BELIEVE THAT WE WERE TOO FOCUSED ON ONE THING. WE WERE VERY AWARE OF WHERE WE WERE AND THE ACFT AROUND US DUE TO THE STRICT SPACING REQUIREMENTS AT STL. UNFORTUNATELY OUR SITUATIONAL AWARENESS OBVIOUSLY FELL SHORT WHEN IT CAME TO COMS. THIS ALSO SHOWED POOR CRM BTWN THE TWO OF US.
