Narrative:

Aircraft came from hangar, captain's altimeter 1000 ft low. I missed the discrepancy until leveling at 16000 ft and returned to assigned altitude after approximately 400 ft overshoot. Center noticed the error, asked our assigned altitude. We said 16000 ft. Center climbed us to FL230.

Title: AN ACR PIC OVERSHOOTS HIS ASSIGNED ALT WHEN HE HAD FAILED TO CORRECTLY SET HIS ALTIMETER PRIOR TO LEAVING DEP ARPT AT PIT, PA.
