Narrative:

Landed on runway 25R and committed to taking the nearest high speed turnoff on right side, when tower advised us to exit runway at taxiway J -- 'three txwys further on right.' we proceeded on taxiway a (parallel to runway 25R). Tower switched us over to 'apron' frequency. Apron frequency did not return our repeated calls. We continued to taxi toward the cargo area. We continued to try and raise 'apron.' finally, 'apron' frequency called us. He seemed quite upset that we continued to taxi without establishing contact with him. Language difficulty contributed to this communication breakdown.
