Narrative:

Sequenced in with arriving traffic at logan, we were given approach clearance and conflicting traffic for parallel runway. While we sought traffic visually we were not handed over to tower and landed at logan while still talking with approach. Too much going on at the time, ATC and the crew missed a very important procedural step. No conflict or loss of separation occurred. Supplemental information from acn 487123: after landing at boston logan international airport runway 4R copilot request a clearance to cross runway 4L. Was at that point in time directed by approach control to contact boston tower frequency 119.1. Problem arose due to distraction from aircraft landing ahead of us. Trying to maintain visual contact with the traffic and also the omission of standard callout at 1000 ft (clear to land/or no landing clearance). Contributing factor: surface movement of boats on the river with high masts. Crossing the approach end of runway 4R. Wake turbulence from previous landing aircraft. Fatigue. This rotation has an AB10 am report time and a flight time over 5 hours caused some problem.

Title: A B767-300 FLC LANDS RWY 4R WITHOUT HAVING RECEIVED LNDG CLRNC WHILE ON APCH CTL FREQ AT BOS, MA.

Narrative: SEQUENCED IN WITH ARRIVING TFC AT LOGAN, WE WERE GIVEN APCH CLRNC AND CONFLICTING TFC FOR PARALLEL RWY. WHILE WE SOUGHT TFC VISUALLY WE WERE NOT HANDED OVER TO TWR AND LANDED AT LOGAN WHILE STILL TALKING WITH APCH. TOO MUCH GOING ON AT THE TIME, ATC AND THE CREW MISSED A VERY IMPORTANT PROCEDURAL STEP. NO CONFLICT OR LOSS OF SEPARATION OCCURRED. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 487123: AFTER LNDG AT BOSTON LOGAN INTL ARPT RWY 4R COPLT REQUEST A CLRNC TO CROSS RWY 4L. WAS AT THAT POINT IN TIME DIRECTED BY APCH CTL TO CONTACT BOSTON TWR FREQ 119.1. PROB AROSE DUE TO DISTR FROM ACFT LNDG AHEAD OF US. TRYING TO MAINTAIN VISUAL CONTACT WITH THE TFC AND ALSO THE OMISSION OF STANDARD CALLOUT AT 1000 FT (CLR TO LAND/OR NO LNDG CLRNC). CONTRIBUTING FACTOR: SURFACE MOVEMENT OF BOATS ON THE RIVER WITH HIGH MASTS. XING THE APCH END OF RWY 4R. WAKE TURB FROM PREVIOUS LNDG ACFT. FATIGUE. THIS ROTATION HAS AN AB10 AM RPT TIME AND A FLT TIME OVER 5 HRS CAUSED SOME PROB.
