Narrative:

On sep/sat/00 prior to departure on a flight from las to alb, I was contacted by crew scheduling informing me I needed to lose 6 mins of our scheduled flight time or risk being removed from a mid-day round trip between bwi and alb on sep/mon/00. As it happened, due to WX in alb, our flight diverted to bdl and then ferried on to bwi. Sep/sun/00 (the third day of a 4 day pairing), repaired a deadhead to alb from bwi then a round-trip alb-mco-alb incurring additional flight time beyond what was scheduled. Sep/mon/00 I flew alb-bwi which added 30 mins to my scheduled flight time. At this point, I wasn't sure what my 30 and 7 time was, even though I was removed by scheduling from my next round-trip flight bwi-alb-bwi. The remaining flight bwi-mdw, scheduled for 1 hour 50 mins, actually flew 2 hours 35 mins due to severe thunderstorms in chicago. After arriving in chicago, I was told by the operations agent to call scheduling and was informed I would be continuing on to stl for an unscheduled overnight, to which I strongly objected. Since I had previously viewed scheduling as an immediate and real time legality check, all my objections to this add-on flight (on the basis of 30 and 7 legality) were met with insistence that I was legal and I would have to fly the flight. So I did fly flight XXX which overflew stl on to lit resulting in my previous suspicion of a violation of 30 and 7, this after being assured by 2 or 3 different schedulers that not only was I legal for but 'required' to take the flight.

Title: ACR PLT DEPENDS ON CREW SCHEDULING TO COMPLETE FLT TIME LIMITS, RESULTING IN THE 30 IN 7 DAY RULE BEING EXCEEDED.

Narrative: ON SEP/SAT/00 PRIOR TO DEP ON A FLT FROM LAS TO ALB, I WAS CONTACTED BY CREW SCHEDULING INFORMING ME I NEEDED TO LOSE 6 MINS OF OUR SCHEDULED FLT TIME OR RISK BEING REMOVED FROM A MID-DAY ROUND TRIP BTWN BWI AND ALB ON SEP/MON/00. AS IT HAPPENED, DUE TO WX IN ALB, OUR FLT DIVERTED TO BDL AND THEN FERRIED ON TO BWI. SEP/SUN/00 (THE THIRD DAY OF A 4 DAY PAIRING), REPAIRED A DEADHEAD TO ALB FROM BWI THEN A ROUND-TRIP ALB-MCO-ALB INCURRING ADDITIONAL FLT TIME BEYOND WHAT WAS SCHEDULED. SEP/MON/00 I FLEW ALB-BWI WHICH ADDED 30 MINS TO MY SCHEDULED FLT TIME. AT THIS POINT, I WASN'T SURE WHAT MY 30 AND 7 TIME WAS, EVEN THOUGH I WAS REMOVED BY SCHEDULING FROM MY NEXT ROUND-TRIP FLT BWI-ALB-BWI. THE REMAINING FLT BWI-MDW, SCHEDULED FOR 1 HR 50 MINS, ACTUALLY FLEW 2 HRS 35 MINS DUE TO SEVERE TSTMS IN CHICAGO. AFTER ARRIVING IN CHICAGO, I WAS TOLD BY THE OPS AGENT TO CALL SCHEDULING AND WAS INFORMED I WOULD BE CONTINUING ON TO STL FOR AN UNSCHEDULED OVERNIGHT, TO WHICH I STRONGLY OBJECTED. SINCE I HAD PREVIOUSLY VIEWED SCHEDULING AS AN IMMEDIATE AND REAL TIME LEGALITY CHK, ALL MY OBJECTIONS TO THIS ADD-ON FLT (ON THE BASIS OF 30 AND 7 LEGALITY) WERE MET WITH INSISTENCE THAT I WAS LEGAL AND I WOULD HAVE TO FLY THE FLT. SO I DID FLY FLT XXX WHICH OVERFLEW STL ON TO LIT RESULTING IN MY PREVIOUS SUSPICION OF A VIOLATION OF 30 AND 7, THIS AFTER BEING ASSURED BY 2 OR 3 DIFFERENT SCHEDULERS THAT NOT ONLY WAS I LEGAL FOR BUT 'REQUIRED' TO TAKE THE FLT.
