Narrative:

While climbing through 16000 ft for 17000 ft after departing bdl, we were cleared direct to center on course. The flight was filed direct to hnk after center. With the aircraft on autoplt #2 and following the FMS track, it cut the corner at center and turned 5 mi prior to center. ATC told us to turn to a heading of 260 degrees to avoid traffic and reported that a jet was at 15400 ft and 2 O'clock. We were then told to turn to 250 degrees. There were no TCASII alerts and we maintained visual with the traffic. We were then cleared on course and told to contact ZBW once on the ground in pit. The captain called ZBW and was advised there was no conflict and the controller that was working the flight was new and did not have any knowledge of the LOA in regards to the airbus FMS track. The supervisor stated there would be no action taken.
