Narrative:

Myself and fellow pilot left the petaluma airport in cessna 210 for lunch. The control, napa tower cleared me to land on runway 18R, I extended the landing gear and it failed to come out, so I told the tower as much and advised the tower that I was going around and returning to petaluma with a landing gear problem. Advised the unicom at petaluma of my intentions. Asked for fire trucks, called owner of aircraft, talked to a mechanic, and followed his suggestions. Took turns flying and running the checklists. Cycled gear down for approximately 1 hour 45 mins. After a fellow pilot inspected the runway and grassy area next to the runway, we agreed the centerline of the runway was best. Landed without hardly any damage.
