Narrative:
I was on a local flight out of crq, no flight plan. Made 1 touch and go at rnm, overflew lake wowlford to bousall for positioning to contact socal approach for a practice ILS back to crq. I was aware of the cdf action but that was 20 NM to the northeast around temecula. ATC told me of the temporary flight restr when I made a position report. I immediately turned south to exit the area. I didn't check NOTAMS because this was my home field I wasn't filing a flight plan and the fire was a significant distance from the field.

Title: DUE TO NOT CHKING FLT NOTAMS FOR HIS LCL FLT, PLT OF AN AMERICAN YANKEE, AA1, PENETRATED A TEMPORARILY FLT RESTR AREA FOR A FOREST FIRE.
Narrative: I WAS ON A LCL FLT OUT OF CRQ, NO FLT PLAN. MADE 1 TOUCH AND GO AT RNM, OVERFLEW LAKE WOWLFORD TO BOUSALL FOR POSITIONING TO CONTACT SOCAL APCH FOR A PRACTICE ILS BACK TO CRQ. I WAS AWARE OF THE CDF ACTION BUT THAT WAS 20 NM TO THE NE AROUND TEMECULA. ATC TOLD ME OF THE TEMPORARY FLT RESTR WHEN I MADE A POS RPT. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED S TO EXIT THE AREA. I DIDN'T CHK NOTAMS BECAUSE THIS WAS MY HOME FIELD I WASN'T FILING A FLT PLAN AND THE FIRE WAS A SIGNIFICANT DISTANCE FROM THE FIELD.
