Narrative:

While awaiting our release time, a 'smoke cargo' warning was received on the master caution. The associated alarms and lights accompanied the warning. The appropriate procedures for this warning were accomplished and the aircraft evacuate/evacuationed onto the taxiway. Crash fire rescue equipment was dispatched, no damage was found within the cargo compartment and no injuries were reported as a result of this incident. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the cargo compartment warning was a false warning caused by a faulty smoke detector or sensor. The reporter said no injuries were incurred during the evacuation. The reporter stated the company reported the problem was caused by a cell phone activated in the baggage but no bags were opened or searched. Callback conv west reporter acn 481914 rev the following information: the reporter stated the cargo warning was a false warning caused by a bad compartment sensor. The reporter said a week or so later the company blamed the incident on a cell phone activated in the baggage compartment but no inspection was made of any baggage.

Title: A CANADAIR CL65 HOLDING ON GND FOR CLRNC DECLARED AN EMER AND EVACED DUE TO A CARGO COMPARTMENT SMOKE WARNING CAUSED BY A FAULTY SENSOR.

Narrative: WHILE AWAITING OUR RELEASE TIME, A 'SMOKE CARGO' WARNING WAS RECEIVED ON THE MASTER CAUTION. THE ASSOCIATED ALARMS AND LIGHTS ACCOMPANIED THE WARNING. THE APPROPRIATE PROCS FOR THIS WARNING WERE ACCOMPLISHED AND THE ACFT EVACED ONTO THE TXWY. CFR WAS DISPATCHED, NO DAMAGE WAS FOUND WITHIN THE CARGO COMPARTMENT AND NO INJURIES WERE RPTED AS A RESULT OF THIS INCIDENT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE CARGO COMPARTMENT WARNING WAS A FALSE WARNING CAUSED BY A FAULTY SMOKE DETECTOR OR SENSOR.
