Narrative:

Location: UJ8 between cuw and chx. En route, approximately 80 NM south of cuw (chihuahua NDB), mazatlan center asked us if we knew where we were. They said we were off course approximately 23 NM to the south of UJ8 between the cuw NDB and the chx (choix) NDB. We were on our way to cabo san lucas. According to us, we were right on the 217 degree bearing out of cuw. Center gave us heading to go direct to chx NDB. We were using cuw because before that time chx was not coming in. Once on center's heading for chx, we tuned in chx and it did show us south of course. Since we did not have a gfms there was no way to confirm how much off course we were. On the way back to dfw we did notice how unreliable both the chx and cuw NDB's were for navigation.
