Aircraft XXX. Unknown ATC problem. On approach to mgy on localizer 20, after being cleared for the localizer 20 approach while localizer inbound, ATC advised of a low altitude alert while at 2400 ft MSL and talac inbound. Then advised controller that the aircraft was inside talac -- inbound DME appeared to be operating correctly, and airport was visible.

Title: APCH CTLR ISSUED LOW ALT ALERT TO PLT OF AN ATX C310 DURING A LOC APCH TO MGY. RPTR WAS VFR, AND BELIEVED THAT HIS ALT AND DME READOUT FROM THE ARPT APPEARED NORMAL.

Narrative: ACFT XXX. UNKNOWN ATC PROB. ON APCH TO MGY ON LOC 20, AFTER BEING CLRED FOR THE LOC 20 APCH WHILE LOC INBOUND, ATC ADVISED OF A LOW ALT ALERT WHILE AT 2400 FT MSL AND TALAC INBOUND. THEN ADVISED CTLR THAT THE ACFT WAS INSIDE TALAC -- INBOUND DME APPEARED TO BE OPERATING CORRECTLY, AND ARPT WAS VISIBLE.
