Narrative:

We were completing a flight test on the nts system on left engine. I pressed the start button to restart and blew a current limiter, causing the left essential bus to fail. We returned to land. Received clearance to land and placed gear down. We had to emergency extend the gear. Not getting a down and locked indication, we did a fly-by to verify. With no possible way to go around, we declared an emergency and landed on opposite runway. No accident or injuries.
