Narrative:

Operating flight from mem-tpa. Original routing had us flying over land to tampa. Due to WX buildups/undercast below, and many deviations for WX, we found ourselves on the blond 2 arrival to tampa. Unfortunately, all the deviation caused us to be out over the water in a non overwater equipped aircraft. I estimate we were approximately 100 mi offshore. Having deviated towards the south of our route and being above an undercast, I really didn't feel as if we had crossed out over the water. Situational awareness was lost, which allowed this occurrence to happen.
