Narrative:
We were at tus. We were starting our engines in groups of 5. When we started, we called for a clearance and waited for quite a while. There were event officials on the ground who waived at us to go. We assumed we were a flight of 5 and cleared to taxi. Therefore, we didn't contact ground control at the approximately time and taxied to our appropriate runway. Instructions were unclr with the tower representative at our briefings and we should have taken our time and waited.

Narrative: WE WERE AT TUS. WE WERE STARTING OUR ENGS IN GROUPS OF 5. WHEN WE STARTED, WE CALLED FOR A CLRNC AND WAITED FOR QUITE A WHILE. THERE WERE EVENT OFFICIALS ON THE GND WHO WAIVED AT US TO GO. WE ASSUMED WE WERE A FLT OF 5 AND CLRED TO TAXI. THEREFORE, WE DIDN'T CONTACT GND CTL AT THE APPROX TIME AND TAXIED TO OUR APPROPRIATE RWY. INSTRUCTIONS WERE UNCLR WITH THE TWR REPRESENTATIVE AT OUR BRIEFINGS AND WE SHOULD HAVE TAKEN OUR TIME AND WAITED.
