Narrative:
Dropped off passenger at cyyc, requested 125 gallons a side for repos flight to cyvr. While taxiing for departure, read fuel gauges incorrectly (saw what I wanted to see). While on SID into cyvr, noticed low fuel condition. I declared an emergency and was given straight-in to runway 12. Flight was operated under ce-560 single pilot waiver. Fuel received was 250 liters instead of 250 gallons. Check fuel gauges and receipt more carefully. I declared an emergency a bit prematurely, but in doing so, certainly prevented the situation from being a lot worse.

Narrative: DROPPED OFF PAX AT CYYC, REQUESTED 125 GALLONS A SIDE FOR REPOS FLT TO CYVR. WHILE TAXIING FOR DEP, READ FUEL GAUGES INCORRECTLY (SAW WHAT I WANTED TO SEE). WHILE ON SID INTO CYVR, NOTICED LOW FUEL CONDITION. I DECLARED AN EMER AND WAS GIVEN STRAIGHT-IN TO RWY 12. FLT WAS OPERATED UNDER CE-560 SINGLE PLT WAIVER. FUEL RECEIVED WAS 250 LITERS INSTEAD OF 250 GALLONS. CHK FUEL GAUGES AND RECEIPT MORE CAREFULLY. I DECLARED AN EMER A BIT PREMATURELY, BUT IN DOING SO, CERTAINLY PREVENTED THE SIT FROM BEING A LOT WORSE.
