Narrative:

B737-300 aircraft #xyz log #wvwv '#4 main tire showing cord' written up on may/wed/00, air carrier flight abc. Repetitive MEL expiration was reviewed prior to departure of air carrier flight abc may/wed/00. The number of lndgs remaining on the #4 main tire were miscalculated by maintenance, the first officer, and myself. We had a mechanic in the cockpit, to fix another problem, and still didn't catch the mistake. We should have had it changed! Aircraft flown to XXX, no problems. Flight abc may/wed/00 XXX direct ZZZ. (The logbook had so many entries, and several pages were pulled over the last 2 days, a simple count of lndgs was not possible.)

Narrative: B737-300 ACFT #XYZ LOG #WVWV '#4 MAIN TIRE SHOWING CORD' WRITTEN UP ON MAY/WED/00, ACR FLT ABC. REPETITIVE MEL EXPIRATION WAS REVIEWED PRIOR TO DEP OF ACR FLT ABC MAY/WED/00. THE NUMBER OF LNDGS REMAINING ON THE #4 MAIN TIRE WERE MISCALCULATED BY MAINT, THE FO, AND MYSELF. WE HAD A MECH IN THE COCKPIT, TO FIX ANOTHER PROB, AND STILL DIDN'T CATCH THE MISTAKE. WE SHOULD HAVE HAD IT CHANGED! ACFT FLOWN TO XXX, NO PROBS. FLT ABC MAY/WED/00 XXX DIRECT ZZZ. (THE LOGBOOK HAD SO MANY ENTRIES, AND SEVERAL PAGES WERE PULLED OVER THE LAST 2 DAYS, A SIMPLE COUNT OF LNDGS WAS NOT POSSIBLE.)
