Narrative:

I was rushed by traffic on a VFR departure and failed to turn on transponder before takeoff. I noted the error within 2-3 mins after departure and engaged the transponder. We departed from hao and the portion of the flight without an operating transponder was underlying cvg class B airspace. No issues were noted. In the future, I will remember the 'lights, camera, action' final pretkof checklist and not allow myself to get rushed by traffic.
