Narrative:
Descending into lgw (landing gatwick), late setting new altimeter from lgw when passing transition level caused a slight deadness in target altitude to avoid a hard pull-up on aircraft. Unsure if an altitude change earlier would help -- especially with transition level so low.

Title: A NEW FE FAILED TO CHANGE THE ALTIMETER SETTING WHEN XING THROUGH THE TRANSITION ALT IN THE VICINITY OF EGKK.
Narrative: DSNDING INTO LGW (LNDG GATWICK), LATE SETTING NEW ALTIMETER FROM LGW WHEN PASSING TRANSITION LEVEL CAUSED A SLIGHT DEADNESS IN TARGET ALT TO AVOID A HARD PULL-UP ON ACFT. UNSURE IF AN ALT CHANGE EARLIER WOULD HELP -- ESPECIALLY WITH TRANSITION LEVEL SO LOW.
