Narrative:

After a practice ILS approach flown by another pilot into luk and a stop for dinner, I departed luk for nao. On departure I failed to reset the transponder code from the practice approach to 1200 for the VFR flight home. I realized upon landing that the wrong code was in the transponder. I always use the 'lights, camera, action' checklist upon taking the active runway. Unfortunately, for camera I only set the transponder to altitude squawk and I never checked the code. From now on I will use the camera check to set the altitude squawk and check the squawk code. Since I was never in contact with cvg approach I don't' know if I caused any problems by having the wrong squawk code entered.
