Narrative:
I was the PIC of air carrier flight abc, operating from XXX-ZZZ -- ont terminating in sjc. Aircraft xyz. The aircraft was deferred for an inoperative autoplt. It was a pilot deferral recorded earlier that day (may/xa/00). Passing through ZZZ, I should have contacted maintenance to have the autoplt deferred by our maintenance per our operating specifications. I did not. We did not transit another maintenance base during the day. It is a well established and documented procedure. It was an oversight on my part.
