Narrative:

At the time of the situation, I was en route from cdw to gai under VFR in good VMC. I was receiving advisories. Believing myself to have been cleared into the washington class B airspace, I entered that airspace at 4500 ft MSL. I attempted to communicate with ATC prior to initiating a descent. I thereupon found myself unable to communicate on the current frequency. I initiated a descent, turned north to leave the class B airspace and searched for a new frequency. Upon contacting baltimore approach, I was told that I was being tracked on radar but that the controller did not understand why I was squawking the assigned code. In the future, I shall be certain prior to entering class B airspace that communication has not been lost.

Narrative: AT THE TIME OF THE SIT, I WAS ENRTE FROM CDW TO GAI UNDER VFR IN GOOD VMC. I WAS RECEIVING ADVISORIES. BELIEVING MYSELF TO HAVE BEEN CLRED INTO THE WASHINGTON CLASS B AIRSPACE, I ENTERED THAT AIRSPACE AT 4500 FT MSL. I ATTEMPTED TO COMMUNICATE WITH ATC PRIOR TO INITIATING A DSCNT. I THEREUPON FOUND MYSELF UNABLE TO COMMUNICATE ON THE CURRENT FREQ. I INITIATED A DSCNT, TURNED N TO LEAVE THE CLASS B AIRSPACE AND SEARCHED FOR A NEW FREQ. UPON CONTACTING BALTIMORE APCH, I WAS TOLD THAT I WAS BEING TRACKED ON RADAR BUT THAT THE CTLR DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHY I WAS SQUAWKING THE ASSIGNED CODE. IN THE FUTURE, I SHALL BE CERTAIN PRIOR TO ENTERING CLASS B AIRSPACE THAT COM HAS NOT BEEN LOST.
