Narrative:

I was given permission to enter class C airspace and approximately 2 mi right base to runway 18R at tul. Approach gave a traffic notice (duchess BE24, 5 mi straight-in to runway 18R) and instructed me to keep close in for landing runway 18R and to contact tul tower. Upon tower contact, I was given a 360 degree heading to follow the BE24. In the process of slowing in speed (from previous 'in tight' mode), I called traffic and was instructed to follow it. Turning an extended right base I lost contact with the BE24. However, I saw what I thought was runway 18R and continued. Tower informed me that the duchess was making an 'option' approach. No other traffic was in the area and nothing was said to me about line up to runway 18L. Approximately 1/2 mi final, I was getting ready to call 'go around' when the duchess called missed approach, therefore, I continued the landing. As I was in the flare, I realized I was landing on runway 18L. After landing I commented to tower about the mistake and was given permission to taxi to parking. Uneventful flight -- yes. 'Heads up' on what can take up your attention -- very definitely.

Title: C421B LANDS ON WRONG RWY AT TUL, OK.

Narrative: I WAS GIVEN PERMISSION TO ENTER CLASS C AIRSPACE AND APPROX 2 MI R BASE TO RWY 18R AT TUL. APCH GAVE A TFC NOTICE (DUCHESS BE24, 5 MI STRAIGHT-IN TO RWY 18R) AND INSTRUCTED ME TO KEEP CLOSE IN FOR LNDG RWY 18R AND TO CONTACT TUL TWR. UPON TWR CONTACT, I WAS GIVEN A 360 DEG HDG TO FOLLOW THE BE24. IN THE PROCESS OF SLOWING IN SPD (FROM PREVIOUS 'IN TIGHT' MODE), I CALLED TFC AND WAS INSTRUCTED TO FOLLOW IT. TURNING AN EXTENDED R BASE I LOST CONTACT WITH THE BE24. HOWEVER, I SAW WHAT I THOUGHT WAS RWY 18R AND CONTINUED. TWR INFORMED ME THAT THE DUCHESS WAS MAKING AN 'OPTION' APCH. NO OTHER TFC WAS IN THE AREA AND NOTHING WAS SAID TO ME ABOUT LINE UP TO RWY 18L. APPROX 1/2 MI FINAL, I WAS GETTING READY TO CALL 'GAR' WHEN THE DUCHESS CALLED MISSED APCH, THEREFORE, I CONTINUED THE LNDG. AS I WAS IN THE FLARE, I REALIZED I WAS LNDG ON RWY 18L. AFTER LNDG I COMMENTED TO TWR ABOUT THE MISTAKE AND WAS GIVEN PERMISSION TO TAXI TO PARKING. UNEVENTFUL FLT -- YES. 'HEADS UP' ON WHAT CAN TAKE UP YOUR ATTN -- VERY DEFINITELY.
