Narrative:

I was cleared for the visual into law. I entered a left downwind for runway 17 and the captain notified me of restr airspace past a road. I saw a large road in the distance and made it affirmative to him that I would remain to the south side of the road. I began the base leg turn and the captain told me I was in restr airspace. I realized that I was using the wrong road as my reference point. This problem could have been easily avoided if I would had clarified which road was the reference rather than accept what I thought to be true. A factor to be considered is that I have been sitting reserve and haven't flown for 7 weeks.
