Narrative:
On numerous occasions, the B737-700 series aircraft loses communications when taxiing into position and hold on runway 19R. We have talked with the company that uses -700 series at mci and have found out that when they are on communication #1 we lose communication. We switched to standby transmitters and we can then talk to them. The relationship of the antennae on the -700 series and the main transmitter is what the problem is. This has been going on since air carrier started flying the -700 series about 5 months ago.

Title: TWR CTLR REGISTERS COMPLAINT ABOUT THE COM PROB WITH THE B737-700 WHICH SOMETIMES CAUSES THE XMISSIONS FROM THE FLC TO NOT BE HEARD IN THE TWR WHEN THE ACFT TAXIES INTO POS FOR TKOF.
Narrative: ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, THE B737-700 SERIES ACFT LOSES COMS WHEN TAXIING INTO POS AND HOLD ON RWY 19R. WE HAVE TALKED WITH THE COMPANY THAT USES -700 SERIES AT MCI AND HAVE FOUND OUT THAT WHEN THEY ARE ON COM #1 WE LOSE COM. WE SWITCHED TO STANDBY XMITTERS AND WE CAN THEN TALK TO THEM.
