Narrative:
#2 IRU failed in-flight. Replaced #2 IRU borrowed from air carrier airlines at ZZZ. Accomplished land verify bite test. Test passed. I neglected to downgrade CAT 2 status due to borrowed part installed. No reminder was offered by maintenance controller during time was OTS. I am now fully aware of proper procedures having just recently viewed our new CAT 2 awareness video on apr/wed/00.
