Narrative:

Distraction by changing route clearance, we inadvertently climbed through our assigned altitude (11000 ft). We caught the error at 11250 ft and peaked momentarily at 11350 ft. We immediately descended to 11000 ft. There was no call from center (ZLA). TCASII showed no aircraft within 5 mi horizontally and 2000 ft vertically. Both pilots resolved to make sure that only one programs the FMS, particularly in a climb or descent.
