Narrative:

Aircraft #1 was wbound at FL200 about to enter my airspace. Pilot request to deviate. Unaware of aircraft #2 south bound in the adjacent sector, I approved the deviation. Aircraft #2 was being vectored behind aircraft #1. When aircraft #2 handoff began to flash, I recognized the potential error developing and turned aircraft #1 to the left, away from aircraft #2. Separation was lost.

Title: ARTCC CTLR FAILED TO MAINTAIN LEGAL SEPARATION WITH A BEECH 58 AND A C421 WHEN PERMITTING THE B58 TO DEVIATE FROM ASSIGNED COURSE AND NOT KNOWING THAT THE C421 WAS COMING FROM ANOTHER SECTOR WOULD CAUSE A CONFLICTION.
