Narrative:

During landing rollout on runway 26L, I was planning on exiting the runway at the first high speed exit. Just as I began to join the high speed exit the local controller was heard to say 'need you to make the next exit.' to me, that meant it was desired that we continue to the next (second) high speed exit. In fact, the local controller desired we exit at the exit I had intended. The reason the local controller was eager for us to leave the runway was a B727 that was about to touch down. The B727 was required to go around since we were on the runway. The B727 go around and the jerky landing roll our passenger received were caused by the local controller not following appropriate ATC procedures and advising involved aircraft of actions to be taken well in advance. The local controller was counseled by both pilots involved.
