Narrative:

While taxiing to gate xa, there was a light rain, however this was not a factor that obstructed my vision while I continued to the gate. I was doing a single engine taxi at a normal speed (walking speed), I noticed a truck parked (only 1 vehicle in the area) to the right side of the gate safety area. From my position, it was difficult to determine the truck's distance and ht. From my perspective, it appeared to me that the area was clear. I could still see the marshaller signaling me to continue inbound, thus reconfirming that it was safe. I continued to follow instructions from the marshaller to help me guide in the aircraft, who had complete visual reference of the surroundings. As I approached the gate area following the taxi line and instructions from the marshaller, I proceeded to make a small arch to the left then right (following the taxi line) in order for the airplane to be aligned with the gate. Once straightening the airplane, and on the taxi line, I confirmed with my first officer that the area was clear. The first officer was looking out the right side of the airplane and was also following instructions from the marshaller. The instructions I kept receiving from the marshaller were to move forward and that the aircraft was clear of obstacles and safe to proceed. According to procedures, I was following instructions form the marshalling agent to continue approaching the gate. As we got closer to the gate area, I felt a slight jolt, and my first officer advised me that we had struck a parked truck. At no time the agent marshalling the aircraft signaled for me to stop. Immediately after impact, I applied the brakes, and I proceeded to shut down the remaining engine. I noticed the marshaller still signaling me to continue moving the airplane forward. I then signaled the marshaller to have the airplane towed to the gate. We completed the engine shutdown checklist, and my first officer gave an announcement explaining the situation and for all passenger to remain seated with their seat belts fastened. Ramp personnel towed the aircraft into the gate.

Title: CAPT OF A B737-700 STOPPED DURING TAXI TO PARKING AFTER FEELING THE ACFT SHUDDER AS THE RESULT OF THE R WING STRIKING A PARKED TRUCK. THE MARSHALLER WAS STILL SIGNALING HIM TO CONTINUE TO THE GATE.

Narrative: WHILE TAXIING TO GATE XA, THERE WAS A LIGHT RAIN, HOWEVER THIS WAS NOT A FACTOR THAT OBSTRUCTED MY VISION WHILE I CONTINUED TO THE GATE. I WAS DOING A SINGLE ENG TAXI AT A NORMAL SPD (WALKING SPD), I NOTICED A TRUCK PARKED (ONLY 1 VEHICLE IN THE AREA) TO THE R SIDE OF THE GATE SAFETY AREA. FROM MY POS, IT WAS DIFFICULT TO DETERMINE THE TRUCK'S DISTANCE AND HT. FROM MY PERSPECTIVE, IT APPEARED TO ME THAT THE AREA WAS CLR. I COULD STILL SEE THE MARSHALLER SIGNALING ME TO CONTINUE INBOUND, THUS RECONFIRMING THAT IT WAS SAFE. I CONTINUED TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE MARSHALLER TO HELP ME GUIDE IN THE ACFT, WHO HAD COMPLETE VISUAL REF OF THE SURROUNDINGS. AS I APCHED THE GATE AREA FOLLOWING THE TAXI LINE AND INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE MARSHALLER, I PROCEEDED TO MAKE A SMALL ARCH TO THE L THEN R (FOLLOWING THE TAXI LINE) IN ORDER FOR THE AIRPLANE TO BE ALIGNED WITH THE GATE. ONCE STRAIGHTENING THE AIRPLANE, AND ON THE TAXI LINE, I CONFIRMED WITH MY FO THAT THE AREA WAS CLR. THE FO WAS LOOKING OUT THE R SIDE OF THE AIRPLANE AND WAS ALSO FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE MARSHALLER. THE INSTRUCTIONS I KEPT RECEIVING FROM THE MARSHALLER WERE TO MOVE FORWARD AND THAT THE ACFT WAS CLR OF OBSTACLES AND SAFE TO PROCEED. ACCORDING TO PROCS, I WAS FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS FORM THE MARSHALLING AGENT TO CONTINUE APCHING THE GATE. AS WE GOT CLOSER TO THE GATE AREA, I FELT A SLIGHT JOLT, AND MY FO ADVISED ME THAT WE HAD STRUCK A PARKED TRUCK. AT NO TIME THE AGENT MARSHALLING THE ACFT SIGNALED FOR ME TO STOP. IMMEDIATELY AFTER IMPACT, I APPLIED THE BRAKES, AND I PROCEEDED TO SHUT DOWN THE REMAINING ENG. I NOTICED THE MARSHALLER STILL SIGNALING ME TO CONTINUE MOVING THE AIRPLANE FORWARD. I THEN SIGNALED THE MARSHALLER TO HAVE THE AIRPLANE TOWED TO THE GATE. WE COMPLETED THE ENG SHUTDOWN CHKLIST, AND MY FO GAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT EXPLAINING THE SIT AND FOR ALL PAX TO REMAIN SEATED WITH THEIR SEAT BELTS FASTENED. RAMP PERSONNEL TOWED THE ACFT INTO THE GATE.
