Narrative:

When throttles were advanced for takeoff, the takeoff warning horn sounded. The takeoff was discontinued at approximately 5-10 KTS, and the aircraft cleared the runway and taxied to a parallel taxiway. All system were checked, including the flap position, trim position, and speed brake position. All system checked normal and confign for takeoff was correct. The flaps were cycled up and back to the takeoff position, the spoilers were extended and retracted, and the trim was cycled to make sure all system were indicating normally. Tower clearance was received to advance throttles on the taxiway to determine if the problem was corrected. Passenger were notified of the engine runup. No warning conditions were noted. Maintenance was contacted through company radio and advised of the situation. When asked if a write-up and taxi back was required, maintenance said that as long as the problem was corrected a write-up was not required. Maintenance checked the aircraft and said that no history of the problem existed. The aircraft taxied back to the runway while completing normal checklist items. A normal takeoff and departure was performed without occurrence. A logbook entry was never made, but in retrospect one should have been entered regardless of recommendation from maintenance.
