Narrative:

Location: psp. ZLA first said traffic would follow us over psp, but we were cleared over palmdale. When we cleared it up, the previous controller was supposed to revise our clearance but did not. Socal said 'cross bands at 10000 ft,' but we could not because we had to slow down because of turbulence and the new clearance. When they handed us off to the next controller, he had an airbus he had to vector us around because we were too high and should have been under. If we had received the amended clearance at an early time we could have made the crossing altitude and slowed as well. There were thunderstorms in the area that made the arrival more difficult.
