Narrative:
While on a training flight for my multi-engine rating, we were doing pattern work at vgt at night, my attention was diverted after passing runway 7 to hold short at runway 12. Out of the corner of my eye I saw the hold short lines passing beneath the airplane and I immediately braked to a stop. The tower saw my inadvertent incursion and had a tomahawk on final go around. My final position before rolling out on the runway was that my tail was touching the hold short lines. I try to be a professional pilot at all times and this should not have happened. In the future, if any attention diversion happens at this critical phase of taxiing, I will stop on the taxiway, and deal with the diversion before continuing.
