Narrative:

While I was taxiing in to gate xa at ewr and following marshaller's instructions, aircraft struck a commissary truck. There was minor damage to the outer slat panel. There were no injuries. I felt a slight jolt. On postflt, the truck strike was noticed. It's difficult to see the wings, need to rely on marshallers. They need to convey reliable guidance to the flcs. Supplemental information from acn 464712: wing walker on right wing. Wing walker on left wing apparently left wing to place wheel chock under left main. Marshallers were subcontractors -- poorly trained and disciplined for aircraft operations.
