Narrative:
I was at cps 'holding short' in line #3 at runway 22 for departure. After the aircraft #1 in line was cleared for departure, tower told the aircraft in front of me that he was cleared to cross runway 22 and, in the same sentence, told me that I was to 'taxi into position and hold' on runway 22. The aircraft in front of me crossed runway 22 and I taxied into position and began my takeoff roll. (I had repeated the 'position and hold' instructions). I started to abort my takeoff when I saw a tampico approaching to cross runway 22. The tampico stopped and never entered the runway. Immediately after I began to abort the tower told me to stop. I believe this happened because of 4 things: 1) I was in a hurry. 2) I had a second radio on and tuned to another frequency (distraction). 3) I was wondering why the aircraft in front of me had waited so long to cross runway 22, he could have gone another way (distraction). 4) I wasn't sure if another plane thought that he was #3 in sequence for runway 22 because of our position on the ramp.

Title: PLT OF AN AERIAL SURVEY SEL ACFT STARTED TKOF ROLL PRIOR TO TWR TKOF CLRNC RESULTING IN A CONFLICT WITH ANOTHER ACFT CLRED TO CROSS THE RWY IN FRONT OF THE RPTR.
Narrative: I WAS AT CPS 'HOLDING SHORT' IN LINE #3 AT RWY 22 FOR DEP. AFTER THE ACFT #1 IN LINE WAS CLRED FOR DEP, TWR TOLD THE ACFT IN FRONT OF ME THAT HE WAS CLRED TO CROSS RWY 22 AND, IN THE SAME SENTENCE, TOLD ME THAT I WAS TO 'TAXI INTO POS AND HOLD' ON RWY 22. THE ACFT IN FRONT OF ME CROSSED RWY 22 AND I TAXIED INTO POS AND BEGAN MY TKOF ROLL. (I HAD REPEATED THE 'POS AND HOLD' INSTRUCTIONS). I STARTED TO ABORT MY TKOF WHEN I SAW A TAMPICO APCHING TO CROSS RWY 22. THE TAMPICO STOPPED AND NEVER ENTERED THE RWY. IMMEDIATELY AFTER I BEGAN TO ABORT THE TWR TOLD ME TO STOP. I BELIEVE THIS HAPPENED BECAUSE OF 4 THINGS: 1) I WAS IN A HURRY. 2) I HAD A SECOND RADIO ON AND TUNED TO ANOTHER FREQ (DISTR). 3) I WAS WONDERING WHY THE ACFT IN FRONT OF ME HAD WAITED SO LONG TO CROSS RWY 22, HE COULD HAVE GONE ANOTHER WAY (DISTR). 4) I WASN'T SURE IF ANOTHER PLANE THOUGHT THAT HE WAS #3 IN SEQUENCE FOR RWY 22 BECAUSE OF OUR POS ON THE RAMP.
