Narrative:
Aircraft X was given traffic (aircraft Y) and reported aircraft Y in sight. Aircraft X was at 17000 ft and aircraft Y at 16000 ft. Aircraft were close to right angles. Visual descent was given to aircraft X to 13000 ft. At 16300 ft, aircraft X advised he had an RA and was climbing, into traffic, aircraft Z that had been descended to FL180 also inbound to dtw.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACFT X RPTED SIGHTING ACFT Y AND WAS TOLD TO MAINTAIN VISUAL AND CLRED TO DSND. ACFT X RECEIVED A TCASII RA FROM ACFT Y AND BEGAN AN EVASIVE MANEUVER, AND CLBED INTO ACFT Z'S AIRSPACE ABOVE, LOSING STANDARD SEPARATION.
Narrative: ACFT X WAS GIVEN TFC (ACFT Y) AND RPTED ACFT Y IN SIGHT. ACFT X WAS AT 17000 FT AND ACFT Y AT 16000 FT. ACFT WERE CLOSE TO R ANGLES. VISUAL DSCNT WAS GIVEN TO ACFT X TO 13000 FT. AT 16300 FT, ACFT X ADVISED HE HAD AN RA AND WAS CLBING, INTO TFC, ACFT Z THAT HAD BEEN DSNDED TO FL180 ALSO INBOUND TO DTW.
