Landing gear indicated down/in-transit light off. Verified main gear down from cockpit. Flight attendant verified main gear down from cabin. Performed low approach, tower visually verified gear down. Performed emergency checklists. Landed uneventfully. Nosewheel steering inoperative. Notified operations and maintenance. They installed gear pins. Aircraft towed to parking. No accident, incident, injuries. Notified maintenance and maintenance found that landing gear handle box assembly malfunctioned and needed to be replaced.
