Narrative:

On final into lax, we were on tower and cleared to land. When I hear 'cleared to land' I generally put the ground control frequency in the not-being-used side of the double head #1 radio. When I did that, I changed the active or tower frequency to ground by mistake. After landing, tower could not contact us and was worried that we may not hold short of the parallel runway. They called us on ground.

Title: A B757 FLC LOSES COM WITH TWR CTLR DURING AN INADVERTENT EARLY FREQ CHANGE ON FINAL APCH INTO LAX, CA.

Narrative: ON FINAL INTO LAX, WE WERE ON TWR AND CLRED TO LAND. WHEN I HEAR 'CLRED TO LAND' I GENERALLY PUT THE GND CTL FREQ IN THE NOT-BEING-USED SIDE OF THE DOUBLE HEAD #1 RADIO. WHEN I DID THAT, I CHANGED THE ACTIVE OR TWR FREQ TO GND BY MISTAKE. AFTER LNDG, TWR COULD NOT CONTACT US AND WAS WORRIED THAT WE MAY NOT HOLD SHORT OF THE PARALLEL RWY. THEY CALLED US ON GND.
