Narrative:

I was assigned to this aircraft on jan/xa/00 with other air carrier inspectors to inspect per the work card provided by air carrier. We all had questions and asked several as to how to proceed. We were told to work this aircraft as if it were one of ours. I followed the work cards to complete detail. Jan/xb/00 I was again assigned to this same aircraft. I was told to help get the aircraft out. I did this job with the same altitude and conviction of my daily duties. There was never a second thought about how my duties were performed. I have been told that the inspectors who worked the aircraft may be in violation. We were never prepared for this air carrier aircraft. No training, guidance, or even required inspection items. In fact there was never an required inspection items list provided. I did for a fact sign numerous required inspection items. Feeling confident about it at the time, I must admit the area of repair station rules and regulations are not an area I've been versed in.

Title: AN MD88 SVC CHK BEING ACCOMPLISHED BY CONTRACT INSPECTORS WHO RPT INADEQUATE CHK PAPERWORK AND LACK OF ACFT SYS TRAINING.

Narrative: I WAS ASSIGNED TO THIS ACFT ON JAN/XA/00 WITH OTHER ACR INSPECTORS TO INSPECT PER THE WORK CARD PROVIDED BY ACR. WE ALL HAD QUESTIONS AND ASKED SEVERAL AS TO HOW TO PROCEED. WE WERE TOLD TO WORK THIS ACFT AS IF IT WERE ONE OF OURS. I FOLLOWED THE WORK CARDS TO COMPLETE DETAIL. JAN/XB/00 I WAS AGAIN ASSIGNED TO THIS SAME ACFT. I WAS TOLD TO HELP GET THE ACFT OUT. I DID THIS JOB WITH THE SAME ALT AND CONVICTION OF MY DAILY DUTIES. THERE WAS NEVER A SECOND THOUGHT ABOUT HOW MY DUTIES WERE PERFORMED. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE INSPECTORS WHO WORKED THE ACFT MAY BE IN VIOLATION. WE WERE NEVER PREPARED FOR THIS ACR ACFT. NO TRAINING, GUIDANCE, OR EVEN REQUIRED INSPECTION ITEMS. IN FACT THERE WAS NEVER AN REQUIRED INSPECTION ITEMS LIST PROVIDED. I DID FOR A FACT SIGN NUMEROUS REQUIRED INSPECTION ITEMS. FEELING CONFIDENT ABOUT IT AT THE TIME, I MUST ADMIT THE AREA OF REPAIR STATION RULES AND REGS ARE NOT AN AREA I'VE BEEN VERSED IN.
