Narrative:

Upon initial contact with ground control, we were notified (for the first time, not on pre departure clearance) of a wheels-up time to jfk. Given taxi clearance to alternate departure side of runway 27. After wheels-up time passed and tower continued to clear other aircraft into position and for takeoff, asked about our wheels-up time. He snapped back that wheels-up was an 'at or after clearance.' when another aircraft asked about its sequence, he snapped back at them some vague, meaningless answer. Don't know if he was at end of shift or end of rope or both.
