Narrative:

During my tour, aircraft XXX had a missing flap inspection cover on right flap outboard, inboard side. I had borrowed the cover from aircraft xyz so that it (aircraft XXX) would not miss the first trip. Borrowed part tags were not available at this station. The aircraft was released, but the logbook was left open due to the part was on order from stores and would arrive at den in time for the part to be installed on aircraft xyz.
