Narrative:
I 'zoned out' for a bit. First officer initiated a turn and lost 400 ft in the turn. I looked up at altimeter when 800 ft horn went off and encouraged corrective action. Contributing factors were I had woken early for an early show time. I was tired, as I did not sleep well the night before.

Title: BE1900D ALTDEV ON APCH TO DAY.
Narrative: I 'ZONED OUT' FOR A BIT. FO INITIATED A TURN AND LOST 400 FT IN THE TURN. I LOOKED UP AT ALTIMETER WHEN 800 FT HORN WENT OFF AND ENCOURAGED CORRECTIVE ACTION. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS WERE I HAD WOKEN EARLY FOR AN EARLY SHOW TIME. I WAS TIRED, AS I DID NOT SLEEP WELL THE NIGHT BEFORE.
