Narrative:

While being vectored for a night visual landing, I was given a TA of a slower plane (cessna) 500 ft below me and ahead of me. Knowing I was must faster, I was so intent on spotting traffic I got out of my normal land check sequence and did not put down the gear. Upon talking to the FAA representative, who was on the scene, she pointed out that my medical was expired in june. I was unaware of that fact. I apparently entered 12/99 in my computer as my expiration date. I use the tall program to track all airplane and pilot expiration dates. I apparently entered the date of my annual as my medical.
