Narrative:

Landed on runway 24R lax. Told to follow the DC10 in front of us. Controller stated they would try to cross 2 at the same time. While performing the after landing checklist, I asked the copilot if we had received clearance to cross. As the DC10 crossed, we followed on premise that the controller was trying to get both aircraft across. There was no other instruction to hold short. No mention from ground control to the contrary.

Title: MD80 CREW CROSSED RWY 24L IN LAX AT TXWY AA WITHOUT BEING CERTAIN THEY HAD CLRNC TO CROSS.

Narrative: LANDED ON RWY 24R LAX. TOLD TO FOLLOW THE DC10 IN FRONT OF US. CTLR STATED THEY WOULD TRY TO CROSS 2 AT THE SAME TIME. WHILE PERFORMING THE AFTER LNDG CHKLIST, I ASKED THE COPLT IF WE HAD RECEIVED CLRNC TO CROSS. AS THE DC10 CROSSED, WE FOLLOWED ON PREMISE THAT THE CTLR WAS TRYING TO GET BOTH ACFT ACROSS. THERE WAS NO OTHER INSTRUCTION TO HOLD SHORT. NO MENTION FROM GND CTL TO THE CONTRARY.
