Narrative:

After landing on runway 22 at roc airport, we back-taxied on runway 22 to the approach end and turned right onto taxiway C. We followed the yellow taxi line precisely and began a left turn onto our lead-in line for gate. There were barrel barricades off of our right wing and a truck was parked on the far side of the barricades. About 1/3 of the way through the 120 degree left turn, we felt a bump or jolt. We continued to the gate, shut down the engines, and performed the parking checklist. We subsequently learned the right wingtip had impacted the paint truck. We also learned the taxi line we used was freshly painted and was 10 mins old. The old taxi line was more than 40 ft further from the barricades and truck. Less than 30 mins after our arrival the paint crew covered up the taxi line we had used using black paint. They then repainted the old taxi line bright yellow and made it the 'new' taxi line. This 'new' taxi line is closer to the terminal and provides adequate separation. Supplemental information from acn 454281: this yellow taxi line was only 10 mins old and was not supposed to be painted until monday (today is friday) according to the ground staff. Shortly after we parked at the gate, the taxi line we followed was painted black (covered) and the old taxi line, which is closer to the terminal, was repainted and became the new official taxi line again. The taxi line we used should never have been painted. The old taxi line (which is now the new taxi line) should have always been the taxi line to use as it provided adequate separation.

Title: A B727 WINGTIP CONTACTS TRUCK WHILE PARKING AT GATE ON THE GND AT ROC.

Narrative: AFTER LNDG ON RWY 22 AT ROC ARPT, WE BACK-TAXIED ON RWY 22 TO THE APCH END AND TURNED R ONTO TXWY C. WE FOLLOWED THE YELLOW TAXI LINE PRECISELY AND BEGAN A L TURN ONTO OUR LEAD-IN LINE FOR GATE. THERE WERE BARREL BARRICADES OFF OF OUR R WING AND A TRUCK WAS PARKED ON THE FAR SIDE OF THE BARRICADES. ABOUT 1/3 OF THE WAY THROUGH THE 120 DEG L TURN, WE FELT A BUMP OR JOLT. WE CONTINUED TO THE GATE, SHUT DOWN THE ENGS, AND PERFORMED THE PARKING CHKLIST. WE SUBSEQUENTLY LEARNED THE R WINGTIP HAD IMPACTED THE PAINT TRUCK. WE ALSO LEARNED THE TAXI LINE WE USED WAS FRESHLY PAINTED AND WAS 10 MINS OLD. THE OLD TAXI LINE WAS MORE THAN 40 FT FURTHER FROM THE BARRICADES AND TRUCK. LESS THAN 30 MINS AFTER OUR ARR THE PAINT CREW COVERED UP THE TAXI LINE WE HAD USED USING BLACK PAINT. THEY THEN REPAINTED THE OLD TAXI LINE BRIGHT YELLOW AND MADE IT THE 'NEW' TAXI LINE. THIS 'NEW' TAXI LINE IS CLOSER TO THE TERMINAL AND PROVIDES ADEQUATE SEPARATION. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 454281: THIS YELLOW TAXI LINE WAS ONLY 10 MINS OLD AND WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE PAINTED UNTIL MONDAY (TODAY IS FRIDAY) ACCORDING TO THE GND STAFF.
