Narrative:
Executing pontiac 8 departure, we were given a turn to 240 degrees by departure and was given a climb up to 3000 ft and then to 4000 ft. At 2500 ft, another bonanza passed me at my altitude in a n-s direction intercept. Evasive action was taken by both aircraft. My altimeter setting was incorrect but it was no factor since I was well below the altitude I was climbing to.
