Narrative:

Assigned ANPU2 departure, kikit transition. Mistakenly flew 'via airway A-1' instead of kikit routing. This is a very cluttered chart and must be read carefully. We were eventually cleared to fly airway A-1 via kikit but mistakenly intercepted and flew airway A-1 prior to kikit. ATC corrected our error. A trap is set by the depiction because it shows airway A-1 crossing the outbound track prior to kikit. One must read the text thoroughly to avoid this error completely.
